Siphon Print Washer

Our siphon washer is large enough to accept 50 x 60cm prints but is also suitable for washing quantities of small prints when a large class is in progress. Washing is very efficient and as water does not overflow the sides, prints remain in the washer.

Its operation is very simple, the printwasher is generally connected to a dedicated faucet such as our printwasher faucet which when activated introduces water into the washer via a spray bar located around the lower perimeter of the unit. The outlet holes in the spray bar point downwards to avoid splashing during initial filling. Prints cannot get caught under the spray bar because it is mounted beneath a grid.

Located at one end of the printwasher is a stand pipe with a cap at the top end. When the rising water reaches the top of this pipe a siphon action commences and a large volume of water begins to discharge. The water level begins to drop and when it reaches the base of the siphon cap, air is drawn in and the siphon action stops.

The cycle repeats resulting in a fresh change of water approximately every eight minutes. At the end of the day the siphon can be removed allowing the washer to drain completely, keeping it clean and algae free.
