Light-Tight Ventilation Fan

In order to maintain an odour free, ‘fresh as a daisy’ student darkroom it’s desirable to achieve at least fifteen changes of air per hour within the darkroom. A windowless environment containing twenty students can be very unhealthy without adequate air exchange.

The diagram shows the design principle of the PME Ventilation system. The pink area represents the darkroom with air being exhausted to the outside via a light tight baffle system. The baffle has a black coated interior to absorb white light and stop it entering the darkroom.

Our exhaust fans are relatively inexpensive and simple for your electrician to install. One or more units are generally wired back to a control switch near the darkroom door.
